The fair descends on Zottegem twice a year, during the Pentecost weekend in May and after the weekend of Our Lady's Assumption in August. 4 days full of ambiance, attractions and snacks!

Giants of Zottegem

Did you know that Zottegem also has some giant families? Once a year, during the Pentecost Fair, they make their appearance in the town center.

Carnival

The Zottegem carnival is the very first in the world every year! Around the first Saturday in January, the festivities erupt. With four processions in twelve days, it is a vibrant period in Zottegem. The night before the first parade in Sint-Goriks-Oudenhove, the symbolic town key is handed over to the carnivalists. This will be followed by processions in the Center, Erwetegem and Sint-Maria-Oudenhove. Children and seniors get their own carnival moment!

Sinterklaas

The holy man visits Zottegem every year! He arrives by train at the station, after which he speaks to all the children on the Market Square. There are also several times each year when you can meet Sinterklaas and his helpers.

Santa Claus

Santa Claus doesn't forget Zottegem either! Meet him in December at Santa's House in the Town Hall.

Christmas market

Every year during the Christmas season, you can enjoy cozy festivities on the downtown streets.

Flea market Velzeke

Flanders' most beautiful flea and antique market can be found every last Sunday of May in Velzeke! The completely traffic-free village center of Velzeke will regale you with numerous trinkets and fringe entertainment for young and old. With nearly 500 booths or about 2 kilometers of merchandise, you are sure to find unique pieces!
